The Troy Telugu Association is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a day-long program highlighting Telugu culture, traditions, music, community activities and social initiatives.
The celebrations are being held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM at 4200 Andover Road, Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. General entry to the event is free for all.
Founded in 2006, the Troy Telugu Association is marking two decades of community engagement under the theme “20 Years of Unity, Culture & Tradition.”
Srinivasa Kalyanam
One of the major highlights is Srinivasa Kalyanam, a devotional celebration of Lord Venkateswara and Goddess Padmavati. The program begins at 9:00 AM.
Participants in the Kalyanam program will receive Tirupati Laddu Prasadam, traditional clothing items, breakfast, Kalyana Bhojanam and pooja supplies. The registration fee is $251.
Telugu Singing Competition
A Telugu Songs Only singing competition is being conducted in two categories—Kids (16 years and under) and Adults (over 16 years). The top five contestants selected earlier will compete in the finals during the anniversary celebrations.
One-Minute Reel Competition
The association is also organizing a One-Minute Reel/Short Video Competition with the theme “Passing Our Culture to New Generations.” The entry fee is $25 per entry. The audience will select two winners, who will receive cash prizes.
The competitions also support HAND (Human Action for Need and Development), with proceeds intended to help women in need in India.
Matrimonial Meet and Community Programs
A Matrimonial Meet is being organized to provide an opportunity for Telugu families and individuals to meet, connect and explore new beginnings.
The day's program also includes cultural performances, Heartfulness meditation, matrimonial sessions, youth and senior sessions, finance seminars and community activities. Traditional lunch served on authentic leaf plates and an evening buffet dinner are also part of the celebrations.
Various stalls and community exhibits will be available throughout the day.
