The American Telugu Association (ATA) successfully hosted the ATA Pickleball Tournament MD 2026 on May 30 in Frederick, Maryland, bringing together pickleball enthusiasts from across the region for a day of exciting competition, sportsmanship, and community bonding.
The tournament witnessed an impressive turnout, with nearly 110 players representing 55 teams competing across Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced divisions. Participants showcased their skills in a series of thrilling matches, creating an energetic atmosphere that reflected the growing popularity of pickleball within the Telugu community.
More than just a sporting event, the tournament served as a platform for strengthening friendships, fostering community connections, and bringing Telugu families together. Winners across various categories were recognized and awarded cash prizes for their outstanding performances.
The event was successfully organized under the leadership of ATA’s 19th Conference & Youth Convention Convener Sridhar Banala, along with Sudhir Damidi, Venkata Yarram, Vasudeva Talla, and Kotla Tippareddy. Their dedication, coordination, and the support of local volunteers played a key role in making the tournament a grand success.
Speaking on the occasion, Sridhar Banala said that the tournament not only celebrated athletic excellence but also reinforced ATA’s commitment to community engagement and cultural unity. He invited everyone to participate in large numbers at ATA’s 19th Conference and Youth Convention, scheduled to be held in Baltimore from July 31 to August 2, 2026.
The tournament stood as another example of ATA’s ongoing efforts to promote healthy lifestyles, community involvement, and stronger connections among Telugu families across North America.
