The Telangana Food Safety Department carried out surprise inspections at Vijayawada Special Krishna Cafe and Palamuru Grill Bar & Restaurant in Hyderabad, where officials detected multiple violations of food safety and hygiene standards.

During the inspections, officials found several sanitation-related issues, including unclean kitchen premises, the presence of flies in food preparation areas, improperly maintained waste disposal systems, and poor housekeeping practices. Authorities also observed food items being stored without proper labels or date markings, raising concerns over food traceability and safety.

Inspectors further reported the use of rusted kitchen utensils, inadequate storage conditions for raw materials, and unhygienic washing areas. In some sections, refrigerators were found to be poorly maintained, while food ingredients were stored in unsuitable containers without proper identification.

At Palamuru Grill Bar & Restaurant, officials also noted deficiencies in pest control records, employee medical fitness documentation, and food handling practices. The inspection team instructed the management to rectify the identified shortcomings and comply with the prescribed food safety regulations.

Following the inspections, notices were issued to both establishments, directing them to address the violations within the stipulated time. Food Safety officials stated that similar surprise inspections will continue across Hyderabad to ensure restaurants maintain hygiene standards and safeguard public health.
