The Union Health Ministry has deployed a National Joint Outbreak Response Team (NJORT) to Gujarat and Rajasthan following a rise in Chandipura virus cases, including 22 reported deaths in Gujarat and two in Rajasthan. The multidisciplinary team will investigate the virus's transmission, vectors, animal reservoirs, and genetic evolution while strengthening surveillance and recommending evidence-based public health interventions under a coordinated "One Health" approach.
