A wedding is usually a week-long celebration filled with rituals, relatives, invitations, decorations, and grand feasts. But as times change, the way weddings are celebrated is changing too. A wedding from Suryapet district is a touching example of this new trend.
Jayaraju and Jyothi from Vepalasingaram village in Huzurnagar Mandal, Suryapet district, have only one daughter, Himabindu. Working in America, Himabindu met Rohit Kumar, who is from NTR district, and their friendship eventually blossomed into love.
With the consent of both families, the couple got married in America on the night of August 28, which was August 29 in India.
Unable to be physically present at their only daughter’s wedding, her parents watched the ceremony live on TV and online from their village. During the wedding rituals, they virtually showered her with akshinthalu and blessed the newlyweds. Overwhelmed with happiness, the parents were seen shedding tears of joy as they watched their daughter begin a new chapter in her life.
After the wedding, Jayaraju and Jyothi hosted a grand wedding feast for relatives, friends, and guests in their village. Though their daughter was thousands of miles away, the emotional parents shared her wedding joy with the entire village.
