Three International Recognitions
Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA), operated by GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd, has strengthened its position among globally recognised airports with three significant accolades.
The recognitions cover different aspects of the passenger journey, including customer service, accessibility for passengers with reduced mobility and the experience delivered to travellers arriving at the airport.
Level 5 Customer Experience Accreditation
One of the biggest achievements is Hyderabad Airport’s Level 5 Accreditation under the ACI World Airport Customer Experience Accreditation Programme.
Level 5 represents the highest level within the programme and recognises airports that have developed a mature, integrated customer-experience ecosystem.
The framework evaluates how passenger expectations are incorporated into strategic decision-making, operational performance, innovation and collaboration across the airport community.
GMR Hyderabad International Airport CEO Kadhir Kadhiravan described the Level 5 recognition as an important milestone in the airport’s journey towards becoming a more customer-centric global aviation hub.
Accessibility Gets Global Recognition
Hyderabad Airport has also made progress in making air travel more inclusive.
The airport received the ACI Accessibility Enhancement Accreditation – Level 2, recognising efforts to improve infrastructure and services for passengers with reduced mobility.
The accreditation highlights the airport’s focus on creating a more seamless, accessible and dignified travel experience for passengers requiring additional assistance.
Recognised Among Best Airports at Arrivals
Another major achievement came through the ACI ASQ Customer Experience Awards.
Hyderabad Airport was recognised among the Best Airports at Arrivals Globally, highlighting its performance in delivering a high-quality experience to passengers completing their journey at the airport. The recognition is listed among GMR Group’s 2026 airport accolades.
Focus on Passenger Experience
The latest recognitions build on Hyderabad Airport’s continuing efforts to improve passenger experience through service innovation, infrastructure upgrades, digital initiatives and stakeholder collaboration.
In 2025, the airport had already achieved Level 4 Accreditation under the ACI World Customer Experience programme. Its move to Level 5 in 2026 marks a further step in the airport’s customer-experience journey.
Hyderabad Airport Also Wins Skytrax Recognition
The airport has also received recognition from Skytrax in 2026.
Hyderabad Airport won the Best Airport Staff in India & South Asia 2026 award for the fifth time. It was also ranked the second-best regional airport and third-best airport in India and South Asia in the 2026 rankings.
Strengthening Hyderabad’s Aviation Hub Status
The latest global recognitions add to Hyderabad Airport’s growing list of international accolades across passenger experience, sustainability and operational excellence.
With expanding connectivity, passenger traffic, cargo operations and technology-driven services, the airport is strengthening Hyderabad’s position as an important aviation and logistics hub. GMR describes its Hyderabad airport as a facility recognised by global and national institutions for passenger experience, sustainability and operational excellence.
