Washington State Telangana Association (WATG) is a non-profit organization formed by Washington State area Telanganites to promote Telangana culture and identity, and contribute towards development of Telangana. WATG is formed to provide a platform for cultural, educational, social and development activities in Washington State and in Telangana region. WATG conducts several events and charity fund raising programs every year.
Washington Telangana Association (WATG) is a non-profit organization formed by Telangana community members in Washington State. Its primary focus is to promote Telangana culture and identity, connect the Telugu/Telangana community, and support cultural, educational, social and charitable activities in Washington and Telangana. WATG also works with other nonprofit organizations in Washington and North America.
To build a strong, connected and culturally vibrant Telangana community in Washington State, while preserving Telangana heritage and contributing to the social and economic development of Telangana and communities in need.
WATG's mission can be summarized as: Promote Telangana culture, traditions and identity in the Washington/Seattle area. Bring the Telangana community together through cultural, educational and social activities. Support charitable causes in Washington, North America and Telangana. Contribute to the development and welfare of Telangana. Collaborate with other nonprofit organizations to expand community impact.
WATG has created a strong community platform through events such as Telangana Daawat, Bathukamma & Dasara celebrations, Vanabhojanalu, talent shows, sports and chess events. It also runs charitable initiatives, including WATG HOPE, WATG SCHOLAR and Annapurna – Feed the Need. Its charity activities have included supporting underprivileged children, educational needs and community welfare in Telangana. For example, WATG has supported schools with classroom benches and contributed to the welfare of visually impaired and disadvantaged children.
