Mid Hudson Area Telugu Association (MHATA) is a non-profit organization devoted to the awareness and promotion of Telugu culture in the Mid Hudson region
The idea of starting a local group for Telugu speaking people in Hudson Valley was under consideration by concerned people of Telugu origin for about two to three years (2009 - 2012). Finally, in early part of 2012 about a dozen like minded individuals from various parts of life gathered for an informal meeting in local Hindu temple and discussed various aspects related to Telugu people of the area. After long deliberations, an idea to start an Organization named Mid Hudson Area Telugu Association (MHATA) was agreed by the participating members. Additional input was solicited from various individual around the area about forming an Interim committee and started organizing various events like Ugadi, Summer Picnic, Bathukamma Panduga & Sports events.
It is purely a not for profit organization formed to serve TELUGU community in mid-Hudson valley region. After getting tremendous support and encouragement from the community, the enthusiasm doubled in the committee members and started added more, more events every year.
Mid Hudson Area Telugu Association (MHATA) is a non-profit organization devoted to the awareness and promotion of Telugu culture in the Mid Hudson region. Formed in 2012, is a very young Indo-American organization in New York. It caters to the cultural, social and literary needs of the Telugu people migrated from India as well as their children raised here in USA.
